Vacoa de Montagne or 

Pandanus balfourii

 

 

 

Vacoa Marron or Pandanus sechellarum is an endemic pandanus, found in the higher regions of Silhouette. Reaching only 12 meters, while its stilt roots can reach more than 30 meters to find grip ravines.

Curculigo sechellensis or coco marron in English palm grass. This is plant growing in the shade of the rain forest. It is not family of the palm trees. Its leaves look like young palm leaves and can reach 1meter, and provide a fibre used to make ropes. When they touch the ground a new plant starts growing from the top of their leaves.
